Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use BuyRent.com.cy, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data we collect

• Account data: your mobile number. Signing in is by mobile only — we text you a six-digit code, keep it just long enough to check it, and discard it when it expires. There is no password. A name and an email address are optional, and we only hold them if you add them.
• Enquiry data: the name, mobile number, optional email address and message you send when you contact an advertiser.
• Advertiser data: if a property is advertised under your number, the contact details and property information published with it. Part of our catalogue, including those contact numbers, was supplied by a third-party listing feed rather than entered on this site.
• Usage data: the searches, saved properties and saved searches you create.
• Technical data: IP address and browser information, recorded with an enquiry and used for security and anti-spam.

How we use it

We use your data to run the search, sign you in, deliver your enquiry to the advertiser, send the alerts you asked for, and protect the service from abuse.

Who sees it

• An enquiry goes to the advertiser of that property — by text message to a private advertiser, by email to an agency — and is stored in our admin, where our moderation team can see it.
• Our SMS provider processes mobile numbers in order to deliver sign-in codes and enquiry notifications.
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing messages.

Contact numbers on listings

The mobile number of a private advertiser is not printed in the page. It is shown only when a visitor asks to see it, so that numbers cannot be collected automatically in bulk.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the service or to meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted. An advertiser account left with no listings and no other activity is removed automatically.

Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your data, or withdraw consent, at any time. If a property is advertised under your number and you did not publish it here, you can take control of it by signing in with that number — you can then correct it, hide it or delete it yourself.
